This week we begin the “You have heard it said… Now I say to you” section of the Sermon on the Mount. Here Jesus raises the standard from the previously thought requirements of the moral law. He calls his followers to a higher moral standard than even the Pharisees. Yikes! Gear up. This is not easy listening.
