Social Justice: The impartial and proportional treatment of each person as a necessary condition of their human dignity
What should I do?
Although Scripture never records God directly speaking to Nehemiah it is clear that God was in his actions to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.
God put this task in his heart.
- Nehemiah 2:12 12 Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me. And I told no one what my God had put into my heart to do for Jerusalem.
The hand of God was with him.
- Nehemiah 2:18 18 And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.
He knew God promised to bring them back.
- Nehemiah 1:8–9 8 Remember the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the peoples, 9 but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there I will gather them and bring them to the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.’
John 14:16–17 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
John 16:7 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
John 16:12–13 12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Romans 8:14–16 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Acts 15:28 (AMP) 28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to place on you any greater burden than these essentials
Philippians 4:7 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
James 1:22 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Isaiah 58:6–7 6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
