Our Beliefs

Jesus is fully equal with God. He lived a perfect life and died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He rose from the dead three days later, vindicating his deity and proving his power over sin and death. He is coming again to fully establish his rule and reign here on earth. (Hebrew 1:3; John 1:1-18; John 14:8-9; 1 Timothy 3:16)

He is coequal with the Father and the Son. In everything he does in the world he points people to their need for Jesus. He comes into a person’s life when they accept Jesus. He empowers Christ-followers to live as they should, convicting them of sin and guiding them to the truth and giving them gifts to be used for the benefit of others. (1 Corinthians 12:4, 11-13; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Peter 4:10-11; Titus 3:5; John 16:8)

All men and women are created in God’s image and therefore, worthy of immeasurable dignity and value. Yet, people have freely chosen to disobey God (sin) and continue to do so, making all people sinful in both deed and nature. This sin separates us from God and leaves all in need of reconciliation to God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 1:18-2:16, 3:10-20, 23; 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:1-3)

Being that we are all sinful by nature and deed there is nothing we can do in and of ourselves to be reconciled to God. Jesus came to make that reconciliation possible. Therefore, salvation is found only in Jesus and only by our faith in his sacrifice on the cross for us. When we put our faith in Jesus we are then fully justified and reconciled to God. (Romans 6:23; 10:9-10, 13; Ephesians 2:1-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 14:6; Titus 3:5)

The Bible is God’s supreme revelation of himself to humanity. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source for Christ-follower’s beliefs and living. It is fully true and inerrant in whatever it affirms. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Mark 4:4, 7, 10)

The church consists of all those who believe in and follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The global church is represented locally in a community of Jesus followers who gather regularly to worship, pray, learn from the Bible, and serve with their various gifts and talents. (Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-46; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 12:26; Hebrews 10:25)

Baptism is a Christ-follower’s outward expression of their commitment of faith in Jesus Christ. It represents a person’s new life in Jesus, in which they identify with his death and resurrection. After believing in Jesus, baptism is the next step in a Christ-follower’s life. (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:18-20; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:1-6; Colossians 2:11-12)
